I will never be 1337. I can not make myself stop using punctuation and typing in sentence case. That's probably why I've never been in a chatroom. I type way too slowly and I have to go back and correct all of my typos (and there are lots of those).

I have my fair share of typos. Who doesn't? And a vast majority of them go un-corrected because, well, I'm lazy but for someone to delebratley look like an uneducated *** makes no sense whatsoever to me.

It isn't about typos or proper grammar, it was created so that computer hackers and others who wanted to do illegal things on the internet could bypass forum chat filters and other detection services by replacing the letters of the words with numbers. However, it caught on a little too well and now it pretty much has defeated its own purpose because everybody knows what the new words mean anyway.

"pwn": A typo-deliberate version of own, a slang term that means to dominate. This could also be spelled "0\/\/n3d" or "pwn3d," among other variations. Online video game bullies or "griefers" often use this term.
