honestly they are pretty much one in the same.

The name shouldn't matter to you, the rates should. I know one of my cards I have a lower APR on it than my friends car loan.

You guys do know how to make money out of credit card companies don't you?? It only works with people that are good with finances. Do you guys get those 6 months interset free cards? Want to know more?

(this is not a scam, its common sense and very easy)

Transfer your balences over to an intrest free card until the free period expires then do it again and some of them will credit you $20 or so to try and get you to take the card out of the drawer. That destroys your credit rating though.

Pyro hit it on the head, you do make money but your credit score takes a hit.

If anything when getting a credit card make sure you maintain a high credit score, it allows you to more or less write your own ticket on loans and credit cards.

On that note I just schooled my citibank card rep, they just lost a large credit line.

Sure you don't mean an Amex Centurian card

In answer to the thread I prefer Mastercard though I have yet to find somewhere that didn't take a Visa over a Mastercard and vica versa. Amex is the spawn of the devil in Europe more refusals than I can count. This is because the charges Amex make to retailers is 5% where MC and Visa are 3 or 3.5%.
