Where can I find good beer in this craphole?!?!?!

Being from Minnesota, Im used to having a multitude of beers to choose from. My favorite has to be Leinenkugels Honeyweiss, though their various berry flavors in the summer months tend to be quite tastey as well. But the army has me stuck in upstate NY. Their definition of "local" beer here is Lebatt Blue. Leineys hasnt made it this far east yet, so Im stuck with Budweiser for the time being. Anyone know of any good beer I can get up here?

I'm in Troy. I'm not sure if that's really upstate NY, but it's not in the city. Keegan Ales makes some good brews. I know they're in NY somewhere. You can buy them by the growler. It puts a 40 to shame.

Also, Magic hat is based out of Burlington VT. You should be able to get some of their stuff in NY.

I just tried that budweiser with caffine in it. It tastes more like red bull than beer. What a waste of money.

Saranac is from the part of NY too. Kinda mass produced but not bad. Definately better than Bud.

saranac is actually o.k. i used to work on the 'guitarist of a band i was in's' car and he would pay me in cases of saranac.

I thought the Saranac stuff was alright. You might be able to get Yeungling, too.

For that matter, you are only 30min from Canada, and you should be able to easily find some decent micro- or small brewery beer at the Ontario Beer Stores. Try Sleeman's, or Upper Canada. They're fairly popular.
