    Ultimate laptop?

I have come across a great excuse to buy the most badass computer I can. I want a laptop, because I use it for lab work and take it places all the time, but I want it to be a desktop replacement when it comes to power. It's not like I carry it around flying or on business, so tiny size and weight are not really important. Most of the time it sits right here. What is the most powerful laptop I can get?

Looking to spend $2500? or less but anything over that please don't hesitate to reccomend for options.

I don't do any gaming but I'm looking to maybe getting into video in the future, and I need a CD burner. Everything else is pretty basic.

I have a custom with 2.0gig P4, 256 ram, 40 gig hdd, but I think the display is a bit too small and I hate how hot it runs and how much it runs its fan. AND I want to do video!

The absolute best laptop money can buy right now would be the dell XPS gen 2. Make sure its the gen 2 with the Pentium M and not the Pentium 4.

Alienware is overpriced. Its the same stuff that comes in other laptops with an Alienware case and costs 30 percent more.

Check out their notebooks. Much better priced, and some excellent stuff.

                Here's one:
Its a wakeup call for the Nintendo generation
                GregHastingsPaintball 3 is coming

You can't get a faster machine that runs cooler, and second, (unless something has changed) you don't need an extremely beefy videocard (unless you want to get a specialist card, which i doubt you can get for laptops and usually cost massive amounts) to do video (by which I'm guessing mean edit video?), you need lots of fast ram and lots of hard disc space. If you're dead set on getting a laptop try looking for a company that will specifically build you a custom machine with lots of ram and disc space.

I guess a nice big monitor would help too
