    audiophilies(sp i think)

    Quick question
I can record musiv mixes on my dvr, I was thinking about using my stereo mic input from my laptop and hook that, via splitter, into the RCA outputs on the back of the dvr and record the music with some kind of software.

IS there a better way to do this?

what equipment are you trying to connect? It sounds like your trying to record sounds from your computer to an external dvd recorder, is that right?

sound is comming from my DVR via sirus radio. My dvr has a litany of outputs. I want to digitally incode them for later use. So I thought I could record the music, since its a dvr, and play it back to record it on my laptop.

damn, I have read both posts a number of time and have no idea what you are trying to do.

You want to take your Sirus radio and record the music to your DVR and then hook that up to your computer and convert them to like MP3?

I think you want to be sending the signal into your laptop via the line in, not mic in.

I'm not sure how the computer's mic input would handle the signal. I believe microphone inputs apply a fair amount of signal amplification, which wouldnt be good for a stereo output. This strikes me as a better idea.

Just rca to mini, mini into imic, imic into USB. Never used it myself.

As for the software, still working on it, though
