Need car audio advice(im a noob)

Alright so I'm looking ahead at a sound system for a future car I'll probably get. I 'm thinking a subaru of types such as the WRX. I was thinking replace all the existing speakers, new cd player, and 2 10" subs. I could build a sub box. I'm looking for an all around good sounding system. I have amybe 400-500 to spend on the whole shmeel.
    I was looking on savinglots.com
What do you guys suggest doing? What do I need to look at quality wise. All speakers, amps and subs should be compatitable correct?

why would you replace that CD player? The one in the WRX is already awesome as it is.

400-500 isn't gonna get you anywhere near a complete system, let alone a good one..
