    Sweet new Military game

It's called "Act of War: Direct Action" by Atari for the PC. I'm not really into PC games, I would rather play XBox but I've been playing the demo for this game and it kicks azz.

The graphics are insane and the gameplay is solid. Some of the future military technology used in the game is pretty amazing. And I think the realistic storyline is the best part, I've never read a Dale Brown book before but supposedly he's a former Air Force Officer and best-selling author who helped develop the game.

Can't wait for Act of War to come out. I think in a week or so. Has anyone played this demo yet?

Age of Empires III Looks more appealing than this... These graphicvs arent that appealing at all... It appears that things like tree's stand out to much, and look really flat with alot of sharp points. the objects such as players and stuff is not in high detail at all... Maybe the screens were taken on a bad comp? I dont know...

AoE3 looks almost too graphic-enhanced. It seems, by those screenshots, that it will be a lot harder to keep track of everything since they will be hidden by buildings/trees, etc. I'm sure it will be different when actually playing it, but I think I'll stick to AoE2....except my router blocked the ports to play on zone...I just want to play a game of Castle Blood! Is that too much to ask!?!??

Well the graphics may not be as nice as AoE3 but they're still pretty dam good and I prefer them because of the realistic locations: from Africa to the Uk to San Francisco to Washington DC.

I dunno, its hard to judge a game from just the screenshots. Once you get used to it, the game is a lot of fun.

I'm still waiting for Auto-Assault to go beta already.

Eh . . . . Act of War looks weak to me. I think I've played another game like it called Real War. Not too good. But I'm willing to give Act chance.

That looks good. Bout time they made a FPS with marines in it

And like everyone else, I can't wait for BF2.

Whoa, I just came across this blog page that has all kinds of info about nukes, planes, and weapons, and how they relate to Act of War. Pretty sweet stuff on there, that guy seems to really know what he's talking about.

OK- I finally got my official copy of Act of War and here is my brief 1st impression.

What really sticks out is that you don't look at it in terms of mission 1, mission 2, etc. because all of the live-action cut scenes are blended in so well (and there's so MANY) that it seriously feels like an interactive movie/story. I've never really had that feeling from an RTS game before and it adds a LOT to the overall enjoyment of the game.

I only played multiplayer for an hour or so and was getting my azz kicked. I must have overestimated my skills and UNDERestimated the popularity of this game: Ranked #5 on gamespot with an 8.7 rating. Ah well, a couple hundred more hours under my belt and I'll be able to dominate.

Anyone else play this yet? I'll be down for some multiplayer action once I get a little better.
