    AIM's new TOS

Read the 2nd paragraph under Content you post. If you're too lazy to read it, they more or less tell you "We retain the right to spy on you, profit from any good ideas you have, and tell your wife about your girlfriend."

Only applies if you signed up after Feb 5 or have updated your AIM software after Feb 5. I wonder if you update a 3rd party client after that date if it applies...

That's what the thing says. Pretty gay if you ask me. Don't mind the government doing it, cause well I kinda trust them, but AOL doesn't have too many e-cool points in my book.

I don't care what he says. As it's worded, it doesn't say that.

                      I agree.

Basically I'm hearing : "We could, but we won't".

Coming from AOL, I dont trust it.

                            March 14, 2005

Updated: America Online quells public criticism of changes to its AIM terms of service, insisting the controversial privacy clause does not pertain to user-to-user instant messaging communication.

After they change their TOS to reflect that, I'll believe it.
