I am looking to add to xboxs to my LAN. What MHZ do you reccomend? I have small ones that are around 6 feet and are 350Mhz. They work great at connecting one xbox to my Lan , I am linking the 2 xboxs together and to the Internet. Should I get the 500Hhz ? Or stick with the 350? The lines are 50ft by the way. Thanks for the help

If you are plugging into a switch just use a basic cat5e patch cable...
If you are hooking two xboxes into eachother use a crossover...

Regular CAT 5 is fine for that.
You can use CAT 5e or any of the higher MHz ones if they are the same/lower price but you won't get any benefits. The enhanced cables MIGHT only make a difference if you were running Gigabit rather than 100 Meg Ethernet.Forest Gump of paintballComment

Actually most Gigbit will run over Cat5 at under 50m.Originally posted by HexisFor 100Mbit (100baseT) cat5e is overkill. You only need Cat5. I suspect you could get reliable 100mbit over cat3 with these short distances. The cable specs beyone Cat5e are for GigE.
Cat5e and 6 have lower crosstalk and other limits but since Gigabit was designed to run over Cat5/5e then Cat6 is overkill.
10 Gigabit is another story but those cards probably cost more than most people's computers.Forest Gump of paintballComment
