Go listen to Iggy Pop, the Sex Pistols and the Clash to get a sense where it came from.

I like Rancid, NOFX, Pennywise, Dropkick Murphys, old Green Day, and Black Flag, to name a few.

One of the problems with a question like this is theres a lot of genres inside punk, and different viewpoints. Some people will throw a lot of bands in the punk genre, while others will argue till they pass out that the only true punk bands are the ones that didn't sell out.

Dont even include the word punk in there, it makes us look bad...

                Youre just another emo kid.

Don't use the term emo if you don't know what it is. It's even more misuded than "punk" now.

i hate people who get all pissy about the different genres a band fits into, shut the heck up.

that being said, the only way to get an un-flamed answer would be to say something like, "What are some bands that sound like -insert band name here-". Which you did. Good job.

AGD - "I WILL KEEEELLL YOU ALLLLL! then we love you long time...."
quik -"10 round tubes and 1/2 naked asians? This cant be good."
