AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I know that my sisters 96 GT wasn't governed... at least not at 120, cause I went above and beyond that a few times. Also I think her speedo went to 150
HarrysSon, Count me in as a die hard, blue blooded Ford guy!
woo! Ford rocks! my dad has a '93 taurus SHO, its soooo awesome... it can go 140 too
Car and Driver's article lists the limited top speed at 143mph unlimited top end at 160ish.
Personally I'm not running it much past 120 the hoods made of light weight material and has that really agressive over hang. Not to mention 120+ in the 1320 is a ways off yet. The original 05's they ran in the Grand Am had hood peel back issues at those speeds and required pins to be installed.
This ones touched 110mph running only the lower 4 gears.
I know it was an austrauilian car BUT TELL me what does the car LOOK LIKE.
My main point was the stag aint just a sports car its a universal kinda american icon.
Also its an affordable Car that offers GREAT performance BANG for the buck.
You look at the GTO and the only nostalgic icon to its the NAME. The car looks and feels like nothing more than i stated earlyier.
the car looks like a holden monaro :P
how much does a '05 stang GT cost anyways? its got to be at least 25k
honestly i dont like the body lines in the new mustangs, the hood has a bubble shape to it when it should be flat, the grill sticks out too far and is kind of rounded, the rims are ugly and way to big. the car from a side profile view the sides of it just look too high and the roof looks too low... its got retro styleing in it, but i'd bet it handle's nothing like a classic stang does.
also i was reading in last months hodrod magazine that they have electronic throttle control, as soon as you start to do a burnout it'll bog the motor down, so no brake stands, donuts, breaking the rearend loose without a modded chip, also i read that the shifting is sloppy.
IMO the '05 GTO looks way better than the '05 stang.
[21:00] < FunkTehChillinMunky > I've got a Warped Sportz Dark Talon
Heh, Crighton, my Mazda3 has done 110 in the lower four gears as well
In fact, it'll top out before redline in fourth. <3 speedlimiters.
I had a good chunk of 4th to go yet, but figured 110 up a short on ramp was a little excessive and braked it down to 70 for the merge onto the highway.
It's all fun till you wreck or the cops slap you with a big fat ticket. I certainly didn't need either one right after I got the car.
The top speed on the 3's is 118mph?

Actually they can be had for less than 25k several thousand less if you do some leg work.
There is a button on the console for TCS shutoff. Press it once and lay as much rubber as you want to. Brake stand, donuts, snakes, smoke me, ect ect.
As for how it looks that's personal opinion, I'm not real partial to the rims myself but they'll make excellent snow tire rims after my Stixx show up.
Non Boosted 05 on the 1320 showing off the TCS shut off
