Easy songs to leearn on the guitar

Can anyone suggest some good practice songs on the guitar to play? I just need something to practice playing on. Can't think of any good songs that are at a noob level.

    Thanks!

Blue Oyster Cult - Dont Fear The Reaper
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
        Staind - Bring The Noise

Those are easy, either powercords, single notes, or barred stuff.

When I was learning bass, I used a lot of stuff by Blink-182 and Social D.

Target Practice is right. Blink182 has a lot of really easy 3-chord riffs to play. My first two songs were All the Small Things, and Ironman by Black Sabbath

Opening riff, perhaps. Learning the solo is where you'll get the real practice in.

Smoke on the water is the one song that EVERY guitar player should know how to play. If you do not know it, you are not a guitarist

Amen, thats what all my friends learned to play first..

Try ramones though... 3 chords per song, repeat

Look up Guitar Pro 4 -- GREAT PROGRAM FOR LEARNING

You can tune your guitar to it, it shows you the notes, tabs, fingerings, all that jazz.

Hey Joe by hendrix (to practice those open chords)
Enter Sandman by metallica (to practice the powerchord changes)

anything by greenday/blink182 for power chords and timing

then it's time to start on learning how to do the solo stuff

nothing else matters - metallica (kinda tough, but you'll learn tons of technique from it)

stinkfist - tool (drop d tuning, but really easy)

the hannuka song - adam sandler

                            malaguena - spanish classical

anything from dream theater just kidding

my first song was sweet home alabama.

somewhat hard to learn though unless you have someone show you and break it down real simple.
