princeton and cherry hill aren't exactly the roughest places in the world. hahaha. yeah the huge range in new jersey is amazing considering what a small area it is. and the way we're developing is truly bizarre. they're building half million dollar homes not five miles from my house but down the street there's people with tires in their yards. this is forcing up property values and my parents are paying more in taxes but the neighborhood still looks like crap. suckage.

In 15 minutes tops, I can go to a neighborhood with multi-million dollar homes or homes that are worth less than 150k. We have everything here.
Hey, look at that! It's Santa!

South Jersey is weird. You can go from one of the richest towns in New Jersey to the poorest in 5 minutes. Moorestown to Camden.....5 miles.

Last time I went to a party in Cherry Hill, it wasn't pretty. It started with us being the only white kids in the party, everyone else was mid-eastern, which caused a major problem. They outnumbered us 2 to 1, and they still didn't stand a chance

Yea ive been into Jiu Jitsu and Muy Thai almost all my life. I used to fight all the time but I really have taken it easy lately because of the whole football thing. I broke my hand fighting during season and had to play with a cast almost all year and OSU told me if it happens again they dont want me. So needless to say ive been real careful lately.

Bro I lived just south of Compton 4 years ago. Its probably the roughest place ive ever lived. Ive been in and seen a lot of fights that would keep you awake at night thinking about. Im not saying this was a crazy fight or anything it was just an old fashioned *** whipping from start to finish. Props to the Jersey boy. And the kid he beat is a pretty tough kid I play football with him.

I didnt say Jersey guys were the craziest, or that Compton or LBC guys are. Theres nuts people in every city.

Except here in South OC they are few and far between. But you get the idea.

well i've been to a few major cities in the jersey area and in cali. i have to say as much as i was kidding around when i mentioned camden that city is scary. i think it has the most percentage of "i don't want to be here" area of any city i've been to. the area by the aquarium is somewhat safe but you can pretty much forget the rest of the city. most cities have a much wider safe tourist friendly zone than what camden has.

the thing about camden that i'm always going to remember is the one time i got lost there. i was on my way home from visiting mango one summer. it started POURING. i couldn't see a thing. cars were weaving all over because they couldn't see the road. you could only actually see the lines on the road during lightning flashes. so i decided it was not safe to be driving so i got off the at the next exit. of course i couldn't actually read the sign. big mistake. i ended up in camden. it was ok for about 3 blocks. then the road drops down about an inch and i find that the road is the most screwed up road i've ever been on. i'm doing like 5-10mph and the car is bouncing up and down. i drive around in circles for a bit and every time the rain lets up a little i see PEOPLE WALKING AROUND. i'm just glad that at the time i was driving the old chevy celebrity with half it's paint gone and rust spots all over. every person i drove by gave my car a hard look, then went about their business. they probably thought i belonged there with my old beat up car. then again they might have been checking to see if i was part of a rival gang. *shudders* i didn't stop for any intersections or lights man. i just kept right on rolling along. as soon as the rain let up enough i got the hell out of there.

yea LA I think is like Camden but more spread out. You see I know LA very well and all the neighborhoods and what gangs run where and what to wear and what not to wear. So I can drive up to USC with my friends/girlfriend or anywhere in LA really and just take streets and neighborhoods I know arent too bad. I mean I could drive around all day in rough neighborhoods that you wouldnt want to walk around in but your not going to get shot inside your car type of thing, and not have any probs. Then theres the areas where I KNOW not to go. I would be asking for trouble. Theres streets where I would probably be shot just for being white. Ive been in some BAD situations when I was younger and dumber hangin out in wrong neighborhoods.

But then again even LA isnt dubbed "The armpit of America" I mean thats impressive.

yessireebob. there are rough areas in every city. no doubt about it. the problem with camden is that it's almost all like that. that's my argument whenever people say camden is no worse than any other city. sure it's not worse but it just doesn't have the redeeming qualities of other cities. LA has a huge tourist area and a lot of upscale sections. NYC has a lot of upscale areas as well as times square, broadway, chinatown, etc. Philly has south street and all the theaters. Newark has a large business area. San Fran it seems you really have to go looking for it to find a run down area. Camden has the aquarium. you're good for a couple blocks in either direction. even then i would be a bit leery of being there after it closes and everybody goes home.

You guys are all morons, anyone can be tough it makes no difference where you're from. Sure, some people come from rough area's but if some kids a 6'3 250 inside linebacker, chances are he's gonna kick most peoples arse no matter where they are from. Plus, if some guy gets good and mad or hes like fighting for someone in danger or something, he'll probably kick most people's arses too. People act tough maybe because they are, but chances are there probably not. Tough is like some eight year old kid with cancer getting his blood taken every day or somethin, not some guy who knocks people out because he's good at punching people in the head.

                            P.S.-sorry for the rant.

I beg to differ. Theres legitimately tough kids who get jumped and gang beaten and robbed and what not and fight through it. Some situations in life make people tougher. These situations occur more frequently in rough areas. IE: big cities. Theres also different kinds of tough...mental and physical. I dont know where your going with that really. I mean if you take it to an extreme are you going to tell me that Ken Shamrock isnt tough? Hes good at punching people in the head and doesnt have cancer, so he cant be tough, right?

Although I agree the linebacker is a big kid, that doesnt automatically mean hes a good fighter. I wouldnt of posted this if he wasnt an exceptional fighter, not just big, strong, and athletic. Fighting is a different ball game. I mean cmon we all know those guys who are like a buck sixty but when they throwdown everyone around is like omg where did that come from. Then they knock out some dude twice there size and everyones like wtf.

I don't come from a tough area, Just a very large town that has a large amount of testosterone enraged teenagers.

Yep, just because you are big doesn't mean you can fight. I'm 160 but have 7 years of formal training under my belt, so I will admit I can kick some *** if I have to. I usually don't use my TKD training unless my life depends on it. Fighting is stupid in my book, but its near impossible to avoid it as a teenager

If this kid ever tried to fight me, I'd run as fast as possible
