Computer help - Rise of Nations

Ok... I buy this game, Rise of Nations... And I'm having trouble.

The game installs just fine, and everything is ok. Autorun pops up and when I click play, nothing happens. At all. I can't get the game to respond or launch whatsoever.

I have tried everything I can think of and am just about to lose it. Any help is much appreciated.

hmm, thats happened with me to a couple games. A quick re-install solved it. I dunno if that'll do the trick for you though, or if you've already tried that (i'm guessing you did). Good luck, its a great game.

      I've reinstalled 6 times.

It copies all files just fine, but it won't run whatsoever. I've even tried running straight from the folder. I updated all video drivers etc, tried both CD drives, tried both CDs, tried every single damn thing I could possible think of and it won't even respond when I try to run it.

thats weird. maybe try installing and running it on a different computer? if it doesn't work on another computer then its something to do with the game.

God i hate it when this happens. SO frustraiting.

I'm running to a buddies house to try it. I think it's my Disk 2; autoplay doesn't work with it.

I will just borrow his disks if it is.

I am desperate... This is the first game I've bought in like two years.

              That wouldn't be it.

I just got a different copy of the game; if that doesn't do it I will just surrender to the almighty enigma that is Rise of Nations.

When Neverwinter nights came out, on my computer it show the loading screen then stop.. didnt crash.. no errors.. just stopped.. I went and got a no cd crack and it worked fine with the crack. It ended up being a problem with the cd authentication and some computers. Returned the game the next day.. not going to pay for a game that I have to crack to play

But anyway.. your best place would be to look at the Rise of Nations forums and see if other people are having the same problem as you. Good luck

Don't surrender to it! It's too much fun to let something like this stop you. Now, go out there and teach that game who owns who.

Ok, this crazy idea didn't work... It's not the CDs.

I have no idea what the hell the problem is, and I just shoved a hockey stick through my computer case... Someone help before I commit suicide.

Try running it in 98 mode.

This happened to me with State of Emergency. I think my computer knew what a crappy game it already was, and prevented me from ever experiencing it.

                              THANKS E-MACHINES!!
