    hood pins

    a freind of mine worked all day on his el camino

    and then he forgot the hood pins ..

    did some nice damage to his harwood hood in the process....

    look at the windsheild the poor basterd...

            yowza... lucky he didnt crush the roof and sheer the hood off too. So let this be a lesson to all you aftermarket glass hood users out there. USE PINS!!! No, the stock latch isnt good enough.

                one can only hope he was on a speedway and not on a highway to make a hood peel back like that.

                  It wouldn't make any difference what type of road he was on. I had the same thing happen to me on a country lane I was doing approx 40mph the latch let go and the bonnet bent over the windscreen, fortunately it didn't crack the screen so I just had to get a new bonnet.

                  (note: I refuse to use american terms when talking about vehicles, adding this before some one asks "what did he just say" )

                      Did you then remove the bent bonnet and put it in the boot to take back to the shop?

                          no as it was on a van, so I could have put in the back by opening the doors but all I actually did was use a rope and tied it down around the bumper.....fender if you like.
