    On The Road Agin!!!!!!!!

Well i Bit the bullet on thursday and got my F250 Towed to My shop to REPLACE the Transmishion on Saturday Ie. Today(Toasted it two months ago and was forced to park it to wait for funding).

Well things went as planed and i had a Buddy Help me out ALOT and a few others give me assistance for the HARD job of pushing the 6200lbs Beast up the SLIGHT incline ad then onto my DRIVE on Hoist. Once on there Both of us started riping and tearing and removed the trans in a little over 1/2 hour. I went to get the Service truck to deliver it to the Trans Shop for Rebuild While my Buddy Drained the Tq Converter and noticed the Baby Rattel sound of a BLOWN TQ Converter.

Apon hearing this myself i decided to ONLY replace the Tq Converter with one from a Blow Tans we had lying around in the shop from a School BUS(It was a BRAND new Updated TQ converter with less than 3000kms on it). Well we strated throwing it back togather while i sent my brother out to get a Trans filter and Gasket set. Once he got back the trans was pretty mutch in and ready for a FULL trans flush and filter change. After that i cleaned her up filled it up and took her for a spin. Drives Like a BRAND new Truck again with NO trans probs showing at all. Best part is the Boss came buy and does not mind me keeping the Converter for NO COST. So the Total cost of my Trans Repair Came out to ONLY $32 for the gasket and Filter and Lunch for the guys in the Shop on monday NOT BAD AT ALL.

My expected cost for this was $1500CDN so now i can put that into the truck for other soon needed repairs and WANTED mods YIPPEEE.

I got some pics after the Triumphant Drive HOME TOO but wish i had taken Step by Step pics of the Removal and Install so here they are

YEAH the trucks a tad dirty but she still Shines unlike the car. Then again the truck too$100 of fuel today OUCH while the cars still running on the $30 i put in a week and a half ago lol.

Of all companies you said DODGE lol. Dodge has YET to make a Decent auto in there trucks Heck even my budy that owns a DODGE Cummins truck agrees with this and opted for the 6 speed stick sift in his. I have owned Two Dodges myself in my Time a Car and a 3/4 Ton Van. The car blew the trans at 190000kms at witch time i sold it and the Van NEVER had mutch luck with But it held togeather It ****ed like POOP and ALWAYS leaked but held togeather for 300,000kms albe it it never towed mutch. I have also owned Too Fords and this is the FIRST one im haveing Tranny Probs. But my total Cost so far on the trans repairs is STILL under $100CDN. Keep in minde my truck was used to pull a Fifth Wheel Hourse Trailer across Canada for most its life. Now its hardest task is any challege my buddies Cummins throws at it lol.

Now Chevy on the other hand make a dang good Trans especially with there Newer Duromax Diesels. The trans are Made by Allison and hold up VERY well but they cost a PRETTY PENNY.

Now if i could afford to Swap in a ZF 5 Stick Shift Trans from a Ford it be happier than a Pig in Poop.

Couldn't agree with you more! They've never made a tranny that could hold up to the Cummins and even their manual transmissions had tons of problems of the nut backing off and losing Overdrive... My uncle had it happen 3 times... twice on the same pickup!

No i guess you did not But why would i opt for a Dodge Stickshift Over the Fords?

There Both Great units and i prefer the Shift pattern on the ZF5 over the Dodges. The ZF is more a Trucks Transmishion and i have gotten use to em From driving th International Straight trucks at my old Work so natually i have come to prefer them.

I have driven my buddies Stick Dodge but it just dont feel right for me. First and Reverse are in the WRONG places.

Not Bad. I aint a huge fan of the 6.5TD (Have quiet a bit of trouble with em at Work in our school buses) as ther a PITA to maintain and have pretty bad Injection Pump Issues. But other than that they drive nice and are GREAT cold starting engines.

Power wise they seem to have a Tad less than my 7.3 but the power is STILL well over ENOUGH lol.

ANd apperanty they run a MUTCH better trans lol. I aint complainging cause the $$$$ i saving on Injetion pumps should cover my trans probs (Next time she goes i swaping in a zf5)
