    Motorcycle Insurance

Can anyone give me an estimate of how much this generally runs? I'm 18 and the bike will be an older(80's) 600cc. I'm in Nova Scotia so I'll only be riding it about half the year.

I'm sure prices will vary quite alot but any one in Canada?

My friend has an 86 (I think) V65 and is paying about $300 a year with it under his parents policy. He got a quote on a newer cbr (I cannot remember which one) and it was upwards of $1200 a year.
Lesson here, cruisers are cheap, crotch rockets are not.

300 a year, thats not bad at all.

I was looking at the cbr600RR, I'd probably in the same boat as your friend, but I decided I didn't want to finance anything anyway.

I pay $100 a year ( yes a year not a month)to insure my 2002 DRZ-400 and that's for California. Course that's a street legal dirt bike but you cannot beat $100. Now I have just the basic coverage but I parts are cheap and as long as I am covered, its all good.

it depends on your driving record, whether or not youre a new bike rider, province, age, all sorts of things. my brother just bought an 03 suzuki gsxr 600 and plays 200/month (cdn and is 19 yrs old). my mom has an 04 suzuki bandit 600 and pays about 90/month. it matters on a lot of factors really. im going to take a guess and say that in your situation its going to be approximately 125/month. we had a dual purpose 98 yamaha 225 that we paid i believe 120/month for. but like they say above, cruisers are less expensive than sport/super sport bikes. thats my estimate for BC prices anyways, i dont know how much difference their is between BC and NS prices.

last year I paid 560 a year for liability on my FZR1000, this year I am paying a little over 200 for the year full coverage on a newer Honda Shadow 1100. I guess I got no complaints.

This is a bit out of date, and I never did pick up the policy (the bike still needs some work to get it street legal, and I wound up going to school instead of finishing it), but I was quoted a bit over $1000CAD a year in Ontario for a 19 year old rider on a 30 year old 350cc Honda.
I don't know if you have your license yet or not, but the insurance company wouldn't touch me until I had at least my M2 (Ontario graduated system).

i was looking at the 600 rockets and the price for insurance for 6 months was about 3500. I bought a suzuki bandit 600, and little more upright riding. That cost me 650 for 6 months.

I just want this stuff gone, super low prices
