Doubt it, the next world war will be in the middle east. Those guys will keep finding ways to terrorize us. Basically as long as we are allied israel and helping them against the palensteins its going to escalate.

China vs japan might become a war and if it does its just going to involve the eastern countries; just like korea and vietnam. If we get involved we can watch china burn from our tv's checking out the 1:15 death ratio's in america's favor. . America is the best country to live in .

From an economic point of view the weird thing is our economy will take a hit if we get involved. China has got some amazing amounts of labor that we outsource to. While, Japan has huge amounts of capital that we outsource to. If we pick sides we'll lose alot of our outsourcing . Though capital is far more important than labor.

If it turns into a world war china is going to lose. All of western europe, north america, and japan vs china, india, and russia? China, India, and Russia all lack the capaital to fight with technology on their side. The day the war starts we win.

I doubt it would involve just them, way too many alliances. I forgot about how many alliances there are. There is a strong chance that it could turn into a world war.

China's military is sadly lacking in strategic power projection and sea/airlift capability. Japan is no powerhouse either, but they would be defending. Plus, the US would definately back the japanese.

First off this isnt even close to a war. Secondly, there isnt a country in Asia that doesnt want Japan nuked off the face of the earth anyway. This stems from an incredibly violent history in which Japan has taken over just about everyone over there, and slaughtered them mercilessly in doing so. I lived in Korea for a little while, and theyve got several independence days from Japan. Koreas general opinion is that we shouldve nuked Japan a couple more times anyway. That was only 60 years ago that they got their freedom from Japan, and to this day, as a society, the Japanese havent shown any remorse for it. They just expect everyone to live with it and move on.

I have been thinking about this more and more. No matter what china does they will lose.

If they rush japan before the US has a chance to mobilize, japan will lose all of their coast and low altitude area within a matter of a week. Japanese would flee to the mountains and make it a guerilla fight. While china is trying to get the japs in the mountains the US would invade the japan coast and take back japan within a few days. During that time we're bombing chinese command and communications, china loses.

If they delay, we will mobilize to the pacific in australia, and our other pacififc bases. Then commence to stealth bomb their communications, china then loses the war at that point.

The problem is, like other eastern wars, the eastern countries dont care about their own people. So they might do something insane.

They only thing they can do is start a nuclear war And get the largest amounts of americans and japanese that they can. Then within a matter of hours we will have the entire chinese military and command pumblized. The only thing we can to then is to station in china, like we did in iraq, until we get a democracy set up again because we cant risk having another communist chinese government set up again and have to risk fighting another nuclear war within 40 or so years.

Sheer numbers mean nothing. One man sitting at a desk in a battleship can press a button and have a 1000 chinese dead. Like i said it depends almost entirely on capital.

I dont think this would turn into a third world war, at least not at this point. If it does however, we will be fighting for a while becuase of the guerilla tactics and such. Remember WWII? the japanese dug in underground with immense tunnel networks, and hid out in the mountains mowing us down since we did not know the terrain. Bombing the place surely wont do much good, since Japan and the Easter pacific islands are many. The only few reasons we won in the pacific is because of our strong naval fleet and the japanese were cut off from supplies due to the blockade. Who knows what will happen years from now, launching nukes would create a nuclear winter with all this talk of every country doing nuclear research, and enemies of the U.S. would have just the right opportunity to strike since we are playing the global police force once again Also, this would cause our country to go even more in debt, so either way it is a lose lose situation. Anyone have anything else to add?

I don't really follow whats going on, mainly because its out of my hands, but IIRC, according to Nostridamus, the 3rd world war will be started by a 3rd world country.
