    Can this run HL2 on full settings?

    Hey guys, will this computer be able to run HL2 on full specs at a pretty good resolution? Here it is:
    AMD Athlon 64 3700+, Socket 754, 1MB L2 Cache
    Corsair Value Select 184 Pin 512MBX2 DDR PC-320
    GIGABYTE "GA-K8NS" nVidia nForce3 250 Chipset Motherboard
    eVGA nVidia GeForce 6800GT Video Card, 256MB GDDR3
    Hitachi 160GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive

      Well if you have the game, find out!
      And I think this would be more appropriate on the Steam Forums, they could answer your question with much more accuracy I think. But I'd say you could, might be a little slow at times though.

        It could, don't know at what FPS though.

        The weird thing about HL2 is I don't think there are any computers yet that could run it flawlessly at full settings

          There are some computers... except they might cost more than your car

          I have an amd 64 3200+ w/ ATI 9800 pro, I run on medium/high settings at 1024x786 with very little below 50-60fps.

          Good enough for me

            Hell yah it would.
            I got full spec on a Athlon Xp 3200+ some Asrock pos mobo
            512mb DDDR 3200
            Radeon 9600 Se.
            I get 40fps non-stop.
            Half-Life 2
            I'll have to take it out to dinner and a movie first. Will it go see AVP? - Halliday On "Will you date my valve?"

              I doubt you get 40...

              9600 SE?
              3200 XP?
              512mb?

              My lil bro (7 years) has a 2500 Barton overclocked to 3200, w/ 9600 Pro, and 1024mb and he runs on medium settings with 40-50fps.

              SE = Worse than pro
              Barton = Roxors
              1024 > 512

              I tweaked the computer for gaming...

              Just saying I doubt you're doing a constant 40... maybe topping at 40... and are you just playing single player or DM?

                GeForce 6800Ultra Extreme 256mb
                Abit NF7
                Audigy 2

                  It will run HL2 as it is with little problem on full settings. However valve is releasing a dynamic lighting package as an update that will bog down even the best machines. You are supposed to be able to see the little specs of dust floating in a beam of light cutting through a dark room.

                    My comp will run it on high settings with the AA and AF kicked down a tad.

                    Doom 3 on the other hand, I don't think there is any computer than can run it at a high res with Ultra settings. IIRC, Ultra is made for 512mb video cards.
