    The 2005 NFL Draft

Interesting draft so far, it seems that everyones mock drafts were totally wrong. Detroit is absolutley stacked on wide recievers now, mike williams and roy williams, plus c. rodgers if he can stay healthy.

My fellow Mountaineer was picked 6th overall by the Titans, first defensive player taken in draft.

Still waiting to see where Adrian McPherson goes, I think he will be one of the biggest suprises of the draft. Anyone who can throw flat footed 75 yards and can scramble like he can deserves a shot at the NFL.

I don't know WTF the Bears were thinking taking Cedric Benson at RB...they just signed Thomas Jones last year.

I was hoping they'd take Derrick Johnson (OLB from Texas) or trade down and take him or a WR later. Johnson was eventually picked by KC at #15.

i thought it was a very good pick. they later got another Wide reciever who will add more to there offence. they will have 3 good wide recievers and now a good running back b/c thomas jones was good but they need someone to back him up or he can back up Benson. with the Defence healthy the D will be better also.

I cant believe Green Bays luck in getting Aaron Rodgers all the way down there. With Favre winding down, this gives them a bit of time to groom first him too. Oh well, they still suck. Go Vikes! BTW, theyre gonna dominate starting this season. Full of talent on both sides of the ball finally.

Well, you guys did get Heath Miller from Virginia. One of the best, if not the best, TE in this years draft. Solid player player with good hands.

The Browns seem to be addressing all their needs. Braylon was a no brainer. I mabe would have taken a higher OLB and left the safety until the later rounds, but that's all I really can see to complain about.

Yea, his size is what caused him to get drafted late, hes on 5 foot 6 but he can fly.

I hate to break it to you, but the lions are still going to suck. Having been a followerof the lions for years, they will still fail to make the playoffs (even as wild cards). They have too many STUPID players that know how to ruin a good play. Also the starting QB (Harrington) can't complete a pass to save his life.
Would I like to think that the Lions stand a chance with this draft pick, and the past two (also WR's)? Yes I would. Will the stand a chance? Hate to say it, but they won't even match last year's record of 6-10. My prediction for them this year is 4-12, followed by the firing of Matt Millen as GM.
But getting to the point of this thread, yes I was suprised at the draft this year, and who went where when.

4-10? Not likely. Chicago still sucks worse. Green Bay is going downhill fast. Thats 4 easily winnable games right there. No you dont have a chance at winning the division, but wild card isnt too much of a longshot if they hurry up and bench Harrington for Garcia. He knows the system like the back of his hand, and has a lot more weapons than he did in San Fran back when they were competitive.

I had one major disappointment. Maurice Clarret WTF?! 3rd round? Youve got to be kidding me maybe im just biased obviously because of what he did to OSU but cmon he ran a 4.83 in the combine, I mean when Im 2 tenths faster than an RB theres a problem. I was in the room with some upperclassmen OSU players who played with him and when they heard about that they absolutely flipped. Everyone was pissed nobody can comprehend how much this guy is hated in Columbus.

That was an easy pick to make though. And the reason they got Cedric was because Thomas Jones sucks. I don't know why they signed Jones to begin with. Now, his brother Julius has some ability...but Thomas isn't his brother.
