    P2P Preferred Utilities

First off, these programs are completely legal, so is downloading copyrighted music. what IS illegal is letting people upload FROM you. i dont advise you doing this at all, nor do i do it either.

ok, well im sure most of you use a p2p program, im just curious which you guys would recommend
    heres the ones ive tried

Kazaa- (eh, first one, friend recommended it ) Pure Crappyness, lots spyware
WinMx- No spyware seen, but doesnt work as well
LimeWire- Nice, alot of files, but spyware...

so, what do you guys use?

    Uhm, yes, no, yes.

Downloading copyrighted music is illegal. Its just that the record companies aren't going after downloaders, they are only going after uploaders. That doesn't mean downloading music you didn't pay for is legal.

The software itself is perfectly legal, though. I've used them to download a bunch of old TV shows that aren't on the air anymore and there aren't any DVD sets available.

I've been using Limewire lately. Kazaa Lite K++ was the best for a long time, but the Kazaa network has been shrinking lately.

WRONG. what in the hell makes you think being in possession of a copy of copyrighted material you did not pay for is legal? the only reason that uploaders get in trouble and not people who simply have the files is because A. it's harder to catch someone who isn't sharing the fact that they have the stuff with the world and B. people who upload are spreading the problem so they are the "bigger fish".

i predict this thread will have a short lifespan.

ditto, so in before the lock

however, i like using Imesh and gluz for my porn. but yeah, virtually everything has a bunch of spyware in it. you just have to have good antispyware to combate it. plus when i know i wont be using it for a while i just uninstall it.

You should go to each gun manufacturers forum or call them up. Ask the OWNER of the company why his gun is better. When you get your answers come back here and tell us what they said.

You should buy my gun because I have 5000 posts that say I care.

I have used every program I had ever heard of, and every one of them except winMX made my computer sick. And I used adware the entire time.... I just stopped and resorted to buying my music :)

P2P is completely worthless nowadays. Not even worth the trouble. I have kazaa lite that I use occasionally if there is a song that I REALLY want to find, and even then I have to download like 20 copies of the file before I get one that isnt corrupted.

Limewire - lots of files, great search capabilities, but the code that the prog is written in is very taxing on any borderline system. I really need RAM...

SHARE AZA has NO spy ware or ad ware to my knowledge. People do tend to fake files if you're searching for....well, anything other than music or movies

I've goteen about 30 Episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 AND quite alot of Boy Meets World episodes too!

                      www.shareaza.com try it!

Bearshare and Limewire operate on the same network. I recommend limewire personally. You also may want to look into WinMX. Stay away from Kazaa if you don't want your system overrun with spyware (and if you look REALLY closely this dude is actually only shooting from the gun in his left hand....weird )

you guys want to know all the ins and outs of shareing, downloading ect and what is legal vs illegal then read this article from cnet

                              some excerpts:
Don't tell me I can't back up my collection! Believe it or not, it depends. If you were to back up your entire music collection on analog cassettes, you'd be in the clear. The Audio Home Recording Act (AHRA) of 1992 makes an explicit exemption for cassette backups. Unfortunately, the AHRA doesn't apply to songs copied to computers. That means, under the strictest interpretations of U.S. copyright law, ripping a song to your computer, then uploading a song to your portable player or copying it to a CD is considered unauthorized and illegal. Of course, there are exceptions.
Can you legally put a collection of songs together and give it to your lover? It depends on what state you live in and whether you're married. No, that's not true, but if you are married, living together, or close friends, it might help make the case that the copy was made for a "personal use." Technically, giving away a mix CD is illegal, but there are exceptions:
