    electronic guys, is this do-able?

This is just a silly idea that I thought might work and look cool if it was done. I could buy all clear cell phone face plates and get the empire logo into it and dye the rest black and create the outline of the empire logo. What I am asking is, is it possible to put in a small led light(or some kind) and make it so whenever the cell is opened it turns on, or when you hit the side button it lights up, just like the front screen lights up. Is this possible?

don't make fun of my quick PS job, I wasn't going for reality or looks, just to show you what I want.

Possible yes, probable no... Simple as wiring in a light (you proposed an led), to the same power line that runs from battery to the outside LCD... I would find a friend who is good with electronics to work 1 on 1 with you with this..

You can do it. You'll void your phone's warranty and you could really f-it up, but it's do-able. You'll need a really small soldering tip and the schematic for your phone, which you might be able to get from the manufacturer. You could power the LED from the same source that turns on your backlighting when your phone rings or you open the cover. You'll need that schematic though--it'll help a lot.

It's definetly doable. It will be a pain in the butt though. It will void your warranty. You want to make sure you hook it up right. If you hook it up wrong you'll probably eat up your battery really fast. If you could find a schematic for your phone then you'd be off to a good start.

Here is an idea. I'm not sure if it would work, but you might be able to pull it off. You can hook up those hands free kits that let you talk into a mic, and listen through a headphone. If you take the audio signal going to a headphone, it might be enough to drive a small LED. That would be even cooler I think. Then the light would glow when someone is talking to you. I'm not sure what the load is for headphones, 8ohms or something? You could mess with that, and just put an LED before the load and it might work.
