    LAN Center Lock-In canceled

This weekend, a lock-in was scheduled at my local LAN center, I wasn't planning on doing this one but then I decided to sign up, and then, he posts this on the forums:

"The lock-in this weekend has to be canceled. Sorry everyone.

I'm not sure what happend but someone has been making calls to the Mayors office and police department in Weymouth and causing problems. The town says I can't do any lock-ins until they have cleared things up. The only problem is, no one knows what the problem is. The state says they don't have any issues with it; the other game centers in MA have them. Weymouth says I may need another permit. If things get cleared up I'll have a lock-in next month."

My question is, can they legally do this?

If by "lock-in" you mean they actually lock you in the building, then that violates fire and life safety codes.
