You cant pass a history class by reading some stupid political flamer forum/homepage you found on google.

Cmon man you cant compare a book to the internet...

Books are better in readability and the amount of relative content, among other things. But if i ever need a little detail, i definitely google that shiznit

the towel, well its the one thing you never leave home without when you are an intergalactic hich hiker. a towel is a sign of preparedness, and will make some one want to pick you up if you have one, because they asume that if you have a towel, you have your other anemities as well, therefore they assume you wont be asking for things

Thats a pretty ignorant statement. Its not an "American-style film". It's based off a screenplay written by the BRITISH author based on his BRITISH novel, feature the adventures of a BRITISH main character.

No, nothing like Mr. Bean. More like Monty Python or the such.

The main character, Arthur Dent, is a very stereotypical british guy. Another of the main characters, is an over-the-top stereotypical american (Zaphod).

I think that if you read the books, you'll find the movie much funnier, but its still good either way. My brother thought it was hilarious, and he's never read the books.

Well I am a big HG2G fan and I would say it was a good movie. It was defiantly funny movie, had me laughing almost the whole time, and that jeweled crab still has me laughing (the one that got flattened by the door). I would say read the at least the 1st book first because you will get the jokes better. The movie does not follow the 1st book really but do not get all in a fuss because the books did not follow the radio show either. But it is not about the story it is about the goofy humor and the poking fun at everything. The other thing that had me laughing like a hyena was the dolphin's song, that was just great. Anyway in short go see the movie after you read the first book. The first book is only like 150 pages and it is an easy read so you should be able to read it in around one night. So long and thanks for all the fish. EPTerry
