i started earlier in the week with 100 and built my way up to over 6000 here and there on pokerroom. Then this happened, i was on 50-100 nl...(ya real high stakes, but i can play them) I flopped Quads and lost to a straight flush.....lost all my profit for the week....wow

Dont get greedy. Playing low stakes limit is how u make the money, its just a lot less interesting heh.

You make the big bucks in no limit, but if you keep increasing the skakes your bound to lose all of it.

Damn, 6k from 100 tho, i dont know anybody thats made that much in less than a week... My kudos to ya, just find stakes where you are comfortable and STAY there, everybody loses big all in hands, you just gotta have that bank account behind ya where the rest of the chips are you you can keep at it.

Your mistake wasnt calling with four of a kind, it was playing mis-proportioned stakes.

What online poker room were you playing? At party poker there's a bad beat table, with a jackpot of somewhere around a couple hundred thousand dollars. If you lose with quad 8s or better, you get half the jackpot and the rest of the jackpot is split between the others playing at the table. Too bad you weren't in that room, otherwise you'd be happy you got beat so bad.

I just lost an all in bet, I had about 16 in chips, 5 dollar buy in.
Community cards were three of a kind, and crap low cards.
I had a full house. Only possible hand that could have beat me was quads, and he managed to pull it off. Arg.

Don't Play Online

You never play online period. You could go into a room where there's six people in one room playing against you. You really have no chance. They could also be chatting on aim or something too. It's just a bad way to play period.

Had a pretty bad one happen to me last night in a real in person game...$40 ten person tournament. I was 2nd in chipstack. Pocket cards 10h Jh. Chip leader raises $1 preflop, I call. Flop = 4 10 J all offsuit. So I flopped top 2 pair. I bet $5, only get 2 callers (one is chip leader). The turn is an 8. I decide i'm going to trap him....i check, he bets $5, I raise $10, he reraises me $10, I go all in and he calls. Now, mind you, we are the 2 chip leaders so this pot is about $200. I flip my 2 pair over, he flips over pocket queens. I have him smoked I think. The river....a 9. He hit his gut straight on the river. And all he said was "Wow....WOW". I was pissed and almost jumped across the table to strangle him. Oh well...
