    AO Scuba divers?

Any AO scuba divers out there? I am interested in getting into it and would love to talk shop with you a little bit. (would prefer to chat with you on AIM)

Diving is one of the things I have always wanted to do. Maybe once I get back into shape and can be seen in public with out a shirt

is that where your name came from, at least indirectly?

I got certified when I was like 10 or 11, I cant remember. Anyway, I have my certification card and I cant remember a single thing from the lessons. Oh well, it was all common sense anyway.

Hehe.. I wont be suprised when I kill myself because I forgot to check my gauge before diving..

I have 4 tanks and one has become my paintball tank but the rest still hit the water once in a while we use a brownie or "huka" mainly now though i've always wondered hows the diven up north?

Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

It's actually not... my name comes from my love for all things aquatic, lol. SCUBA is a relatively new love. When I got certified there were all these sea lions around... they were chewing on our fins, and our hoods, and trying to rip our masks off. It was one of the coolest experiences in my life.

I've been PADI ( NAUI) certified since '97...and I've got a total of like, 8 hours of bottom time

I learned to dive in Okinawa, Japan--one of the best dive spots on the planet
Just before we left there to come back to the U.S., my wife and I sold all of our dive equipment (except for my tank, mask and snorkel) I kept my tank for paintball and my mask and snorkel were too nice to let go of.
I do kind of regret selling the brand new Beuchat BCD though (never even used it!)

Anyway, I'd love to dive again, but I'd definitely need to take a refresher course.

There are tons of divers on AO, just none taht want to help you out

I do more of the deeper/long duration stuff. Much fun, but wetsuits don't cut it up in the great lakes, too damn cold....

Ask yer questions, that way anyone else can learn from them as well, but you knew that already right Leo?

Here's a couple pics from North Carolina 2002

first one is a 10' Sandtiger shark, and the second pic os me with my twin tank setup on in front of the boilers from a WW2 wreck called the Caribsea
