I've been a diver for 13 years or so now, although it's been a while since I went. I need to hook up with a certain Canadian sometime for a trip to Florida when i can leave the business.

What are your thoughts on dry suit diving? Living in canada mayhem you must know something about that?
Also just need some advice on products...which I don't think is worth posting.

Load - You know I'm down for that.. just giime some notice and I can see whats up. I'm all for hiting the Keys again.
Leo - Drysuit diving is really the only way to go for colder water. Heck it's good for warm water/long duration dives as well. There is a small learning curve to it though, there are some drills you should learn in a shallow lake/quarry/river/pool before heading out into open water. Drysuits, while they add a lot of comfort to your diving, they do also add another task to you list of tasks that will grow the longer you are in the water, and for a beginner diver, task loading is not neccesarily a good thing.
My advice, learn in a wetsuit, get some decent bottom time, then go dry, that way you will already be comfortable, the diving will almost become second nature, and then the drysuit won't be an issue.
Any othe questions? Anyone?

Thats it? I usually try to get at least one or two ice dives in each year, and the water temp is usually hovering right around the freezing mark.Originally posted by lord1234SAW...bottom temps around here are around 38 right now...
Ahhh, nothing like standing on the underside of a thick sheet of ice
