Photoshop Question--help me fast please!

Ok, you know, i.e., on the edit drop down menu, the action "Fill" has the "l" underlined, well, is that a hotkey? How do I use these shortcuts? There are so many actions I use repeatedly, and it would be easier to hit a couple of keys rather than navigate the drop down menus.

If there are other ps efficiency tips you know of, even if they are fairly easy to do, tell me. I'm always looking for ways to work faster.

Push Ctrl+i.

That works for most any program with stuff like that underlined, I think. Haven't used it much actually.

it's not doing that action...hrmmm....anybody else have any ideas how this works?

if the 'i' looks like the 'v' by paste, 'c' by copy and 'x' by cut, then it should be a hot key. my guess is theres a little funny symbol thats beside it that tells you to hold the shift key down too or something like that. dont know for sure

It's ALT + the letter that is underlined (if it's a windows system). So, to get to the "Fill" command it you would hit [Alt+E] (to open the "Edit" menu), then [L] (to execute the Fill command).

If there is a ctrl+<something> next to it in the drop down, then it is a control shortcut and you can just hit ctrl+ what ever the letter is (or combo of ctrl, shift, alt, etc..)


I just looked and in Photoshop CS the fill has a shortcut key of [SHIFT-F5]
