AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
My dad and I use coleman cobras. So do lots of other people in my scout troop and we all love them. They have just enough room for two people and I've taken mine to philmont and all other sorts of places. They work great.
Problem is that coleman, even the higher quality ones are not made very well, they have seams that leak, floors that rip and they do not pack well.
Get a tarp. Black Diamond makes the megamid; its a tarp, that uses trekking poles for the poles. I have used one for a couple of years, and I think it works fine. I do suggest a bivy sack though, in case of SERIOUS downpours. For that, I use one made for climbing; its made of ToddTex-a similarr material to goretex. As it never comes into direct contact with rain, and I only really need it for severe runoff under the tarp, it works fine. And, it weighs 1/3 of a goretex bivy.
