    Ipod's Itunes Alternatives?

What are some alternatives to the stock Itunes program, which I hate to use with my Ipod.

And what procedures should I go through so I can just drag and drop .mp3's in a root folder on my ipod, by opening it via My Computer?

You cant, unless you switch it to 'hard drive' mode.

that is basically the only way to do it. you want your computer to recognize the ipod as a new device, drive. but may i ask, what the hell is exactly wrong w/ itunes. it is by far the best music player out there now.

Dropping MP3s into the iPod doesn't make them playable on the iPod.

Dont' be mad at Apple. Be mad at the fact that all the DRM stuff in iTunes and the iPod was a stipulation of music industry people.

What's wrong with using iTues to sync your music and using anything else to play it? If it's the interface you don't like, there are Dashboard widgets that make a smaller interface.

I think it's pretty hard to beat iTunes' cataloguing, though.

I think a plugin for winamp that makes your iPod work with the winamp media library just came out...supposed to be nice, can't think of the name.

In iTunes you can turn off the setting that says "auto-sync with iPod" Once you do this you can drag and drop songs into your iPod via iTunes.
