    Ebay and nigeria shipping

Ok, this is getting annoying for me, and maybe I'm just being to paranoid. About 6 months ago, I was selling my laptop and had 4 offers to buy if I would send to a different country. Now I'm selling my PS2 with games and stuff and had one offer earlier to buy if I sent to nigera, and now someone used buy it know(from a US address)but says they are in the UK on business and wants me to use there business fedEX account(wich I believe is illegal) to send it to there daughter in school in, you guessed it, nigeria. HMM think I will copy the email and send it to ebay.

Has anyone else had stuff like this happen.?

ya, I just looked at the username history and it has been changed about 12 times from all kinds of places. And the current one says florida but in the email said they were from north carolina.

And I was really looking forward to the cash.

I replied saying I would get them shipping cost and they could send the whole payment through paypal and I would ship it after I get the payment, we'll see if I get a response.

Most computers are on a list of things that are illegal to export without special government licensing, and I beleive the PS2 maybe as well based on "dual use" possibilities.

If the shipping address doesn't match confirmed paypal address you can offically tell them to take a flying leap.

"getting the money first" is not protection. The scam goes like this:

Somone (usually in a differnet country) wins an auction on an item they may or may not want.
They offer to pay with a Money Order (nice and safe, right?).
They send a MO that's for a much larger amount than the item cost and ask that you just send the change.
The MO turns out to be fake, but your bank doesn't know this for a while, so you get stuck with the bill.

                    The scam way:
Step 1: Buy things on ebay.
                    Step 2: ...
                    Step 3: Profit!

If you are going to accept a MO for any payment, I would suggest a 30 day delay to let the MO clear. Due to forgeries, they are not much safer than checks. If somone ever wants to send you a MO for more than the puchase price, and wants the change, that's the scam. Tell them to zark off.

boy they are really trying. Sent me a fake paypal payment, that doesn't come from paypal.com, and said they will call fed ex to pick it up tomorrow morning. And the money won't be credited to my account until I provide a tracking number to paypal. Owell, it's going back on ebay(unless anyone is interested in a ps2 with games and acc.)
