Hahahahaha. I just read this whole thread. I'm getting all this crap, and I NEVER go over 85, and draw the line 99% of the time at 80, conditions permitting. And everyone is telling ME I'm endangering people, being reckless, hahahha. Where's anyone saying "100+? You should get the death penalty! whaaaa whaaa whaaa"

No, in this thread you have someone who seems to admit their mistake and is trying to find out if they have a defence.

You on the otherhand think that you can personally determine which laws are valid and which aren't and are looking for a way to get away with breaking them.

The difference is "I failed to obey the law"

        to

"The law is bogus, I am a better judge than the paid engineers and experts, the goverment is out to get me, the police are evil, shooters on the grassy knoll..."

Either that or we all hate you and like him better... you're choice

You know what, I realized my stupidity. You guys are absolutely right. A law being on the books elevates it beyond questioning.

No it doesn't, but contrary to what your posts indicate the government and speed limits are not designed with the sole purpose of giving the governmetn power and targetting you that is indicated

Grow up. You can question laws, but belly aching about them and inventing conspiracy theories isn't the way to question them.

That's also why there are courts and judges and lawyers. TO question laws and defend people against the more questionable ones. How often have many of the truly "dumb" laws been enforced?

Because Slarty.. making conspiracy theories rather than just saying I chose to disobey the speed limit - or oops, I accidentally disobeyed the speed limit (which I do from time to time) sounds so much more mature and responsible

I DO choose to disobey the speed limit most of the time. I don't think they are a conspiracy theory, but there are a number of factors as to why they are not as high as they would be, if they were purely basing them on safety. Do I think we should get rid of them? Absolutely not.
