That'd be a pretty nice hit for a football player

Thats what you get when you stand in the baselines. I remember when I played little league this fat kid played first base and he always blocked the baseline and he'd get kids out because they'd slow down so they wouldn't hit him. I was bigger than the kid so my coach told me to flatten him. So I ran him over and got to first base. After that he didn't block the baseline very often.

        HAHAH THAT WAS YOU!! LOL

Just kidding. I had a similar story. I used to catch, but was probably better suited as a linebacker.

I like the pics that show some bat to catchers helmet contact. now I think those would hurt.

            Nice!

Only issue I have with it is that he had plenty of room to go around him -- Estrada was on one SIDE of the baseline, not directly in his path.

He was still in the basepath, and the dude woulda been out if he hadn't hit him.

Unethical? Maybe. But its allowed. You see it all the time, this guy just hits harder than most

yea estrada dropped the ball and the other guy climbed over him to touch home.

Me being a braves fan i think that is really cheap, estrada was out of the base path. The guy didnt even go for the plate he straight out tackled estrada. Hitting the catcher is ok if he is in your way but going out of your way to level him is cheap as hell.

Kinda like trying to take out the 2nd basemen when he is turning a double play. IDK that is just my oppinion/

very fair play. If you have a chance to knock the ball out of somebodys hands cuz theyre in the base path you do it, especially if its the catcher. if u dont ur a rookie, and out every time.

                      finally, a baseball thread!

basepath is defined to be 5-6' wide...

If the announcer for the Braves stated clearly many times that this was a very fair and clean play. I'm a Braves fan and I would have done the same thing. Estrada would have tagged him if he went straight for the plate.
