It was a great movie, as good or better than the first. Great plot and acting, and PUNS.

It was rated PG 13, but given that your child is mature enough to handle a little violence, and doesn't fright particulary easily, I would say its all right.

Sure it does because of all the talk about how men die and can be forgotten but a legend is something greater than a man.

When Ken Watanabe dies, the legend of Ra's Al Ghul still lives. Ra's Al Ghul is immortal because he is a legend, and more than a man. I thought they covered the concept of his immortality rather well. This Batman had no aspects of fantasy. No one had any super powers, it was all very realistic. Real good guys, real bad guys. I kinda like Batman that way.

I thought it was a fantastic movie. Just what the Batman series SHOULD have been.

Don't get me wrong, Jack Nicholson as Joker is still one of the best bits of casting in Hollywood but we finally got to see his transformation from Bruce Wayne to Batman.

Thor made some great points over on the Thorums regarding faceless vengeance and how that would impact the character.

          Overall, better than Episode 3!

Great movie. Great acting, good character development, understandable motivations, special effects to enhance rather than carry. Superb.

I thought this movie was extremely well done. I like Christian Bale's acting quite a bit in his films, he has good range. I thought the little homage to "American Psycho" was clever too (where he gets up and immediately starts doing push-ups). As odd as it sounds, I thought the best thing about this movie was that for the majority of the film you never got the impression you were watching a "comic book movie". People who saw the last two Batman films know what I mean. Anyway, I got the feeling I was watching a regular film noir action drama that somehow morphs into a comic film. Very well done.

Dude this movie was freakin sweet! Better than Episode 3! I told all my friends that this is the movie I was waiting for this summer, no matter how good Star Wars turned out to be, and I was right! Now first of all, forget all the previous movies, this one stands on its own, if for no other reason than the ending. And for those of you who have seen it, you know what I mean. If thats a setup for the next one, and I bet it is, I'm already salivating. When I saw that card, I got an instant hard-on. Christian Bale was the perfect blend of Batman and Bruce Wayne. Going in, I wasn't sure how I was going to like the new Batmobile, but that was the best so far, even better than Keatons Batmobile. I must say, I still like Keatons Batsuit the best though, with the big yellow bat symbol. Those that have read 'The Dark Knight Returns' will know where I'm coming from. I also liked the music from the first one the best too. My only gripe about this movie was Ra's al Ghul. They made him out to be a vigilante instead of and eco-terrorist. Of course, in both forms he tried to destroy Gotham with a plauge, but still, they didn't even get into his near imortality, which is a key aspect of the character. But you know what I liked best about this movie? No Bat-nipples!

Uh? Plauge? I dont seem to recall THAT part of the movie.

Well, according to my handy dandy DC Comics Encyclopedia, Ra's tryed to destroy Gotham a few years back with a variant of Ebola. In the movie, it took the form of the Scarecrows fright gas.

Saw that movie last night and I agree that it was very well done. Only grievances were how it contradicted the original Batman movie on how his parents were killed on the creation of The Joker.

In the original, Bruce Wayne's parents were killed by a young Jack Napier not Finch. Also Batman created The Joker when Jack Napier fell into the chemicals.

It's on a completely different storyline.

Yes, this movie IS NOT a prequal. It stands alone from the previous movies, just like the previous movies stood seperate from the movie made in the late 60's, that gave rise to the tv show starring Adam West. Damn I need a new hobby.
