wow, im surprised no one has mentioned 2 of the coolest, and most fun cars ever to hit the market. The rotary powered rx's.
and my personal fav, the rx8. i absolutely love this car, autoweek loves this car, topgear loves this car, and i love driving it.
its so easy to drive fast, it handles amazingly, its quick, smoothe, all in all, its like a cheep supercar.

I noticed that... I couldn't find one that I really liked around 80k... if I could get something for above that... maybe an Aston Martin or something. A lot of cars at the 80k range... you wouldn't know cost that much unless you were very familiar with the models. And there's plenty of cars around 40k that I'd be happy with.
This is about 45-50k... wouldn't mind having one (although it's a glorified 4Runner, really):
