    Billy Corgan/Smashing Pumpkins

Well, I'm a big fan of the smashing pumpkins..
Has anyone else gotten billy corgans solo cd the future embrace? I really like it myself. Its alot more electronic than anything he's done in the past, but I like it. He's a really talented song writer..

Did you guys hear the news? He's trying to get the pumpkins back together and Jimmy Chamberlain (the drummer) has already said he would come back.

I'm not sure how that's going to turn out.. I dont think it's that great of an idea, but it would be cool to see them together again. I really didnt become a fan of the pumpkins until they split up.

Yeah I know this news is a week old.

p.s. you can listen to the whole cd right here

Pumpkins are amazingly talented. Billy Corgan is one of the great rockers of our time. I gotta check out his new stuff.

Yeah I know.. james was never really that dedicated to the SP (or atleast thats the impression ive gotten from reading bc's novel) so getting him back from perfect circle might be a chore..

I bought one of perfect circles cds and it sucks.. why would he join such a crappy band?

But yea, billy's amazing. He's my hero and this new cd is pretty damn good if I do say so for myself :)

you probably bought "e-motive"...it's not that good. "mer de noms" and "thirteenth step" are outstanding.

            yep, how'd you know? haha

I dont even know how to describe it.. I only listened to it once then I put it back in its case.. I guess its too gothish for me if thats a real word.. there's alot of tension in those songs and I was just waiting for them to start screaming, and they never did. It's a very weird cd.

Needless to say, that is the first and last cd I ever buy without listening to atleast one song off of it first, or atleast a clip

My favourite album was Siamese dream, absolutely phenominal album, and makes the hairs on my neck stand up to this day when I listen to it. Saw them live in 1994 just before they released Melencoly (sp) and I will remember that gig for the rest of my life.

(I may have the dates wrong as I was a) blasted b) it was a long time ago)

Havent heard the new stuff though.

Oh and I wanted to add that Jimmy C was the best drummer I have ever seen. Technically brilliant. Its a shame he was sacked after being arrested over heroin charges.

And yet, they're competely different. A Perfect Circle pales in comparison to Tool.

Yes, he is pretty damn amazing. Have you heard his solo album? His band is called Jimmy Chamberlin Complex and the album is called Life Begins Again. It's really good.

Also he got back with the pumpkins after Adore.. right before the split.

tool plays much more technical and complecated music than a perfect circle, but a perfect circle is still awesome. with a perfect circle maynard is much more laid back but with tool he sings with more energy and aggression.
