    Who else uses Vonage (VoIP)?

I just plugged the thing in, and I'm impressed. It has a lot of cool features... any of you use it?

Nope but I use skype (www.skype.com) a LOT! To speak to family and friends all over the world. The sound quality is stunning.

I just got a 5.8 MHz cordless along with it... and the sound quality is great for a phone - I'm really pleased with it.

I have it set to call forwarding, so my home phone and cell phone rings at the same time. So... if my cable service goes out (very rare)... my cell still rings. I also don't have to give out two phone numbers... one works for both. I know it's a simple feature, and I'm sure it's not unique to Vonage... but I didn't know that you could do that kind of thing before.

It does other stuff... Check out http://www.vonage.com to see what else it does.

I use vonage here in the office at work, with a 5.8mhz phone. Works great. We had another office that we are opening, which has DSL, and found that the quality wasn't that great. It seems that you need a broadband connection (cable or higher) for this to work optimally. I also like the ability to have what they call a soft phone. You can setup a phone from your laptop and call from there.

The call forwarding option is also great, my boss uses it on his line, I have yet to use it on mine. I hear vonage is in the midst of making a mobile phone. It works on the premis that if you are in the area of a hotspot, your phone will work. That would be something great.

I have heard nothing but great things about Vonage. I bet there are a bunch of execs at Ma'Bell having heart falure over them.

i have been using vonage for a few months now and it is GREAT!! unfortunatly i moved to a place where cable is no longer an option, only DSL (been waiting 2 1/2 weeks for f-ing verizon to hook it up). So once it is up i have no idea what kind of quality i'll have and i am very concerned.

However, when i was using it in conjunction with cable internet it was great quality. I love all the features too.

you have have voicemail messages emailed to you, or go online and listen to them (or of course directly from your phone).
Call forwarding was already mentioned, and you get all the major bells and whistles too (caller id, 3way, waiting etc......).

I selected the 500 minute plan for 15 bux a month because i know i'll never exceed it.

Plus it is cool knowing that i can have a number in another state or country and it will still ring me locally.

We should set up a referal program here (if you get vonage tell them miscue sent ya and he will get a referal bonus). And since this is cue's thread if he woulndt mind that if i take a couple referals every now and then it would be great.
