Just got back from Skirmish the other day.
First thing I have to say, damn it felt good to take a shower after two days of paintball.
Got there Friday Night with the Extreme Measures guys, set up camp and all that stuff. Didn't play in Castle Nights. Hang out, talk to people, check out the stuff for sale there, all that fun stuff.
Saterday Morning, storming the Beach. One of the most fun things I've done in Paintball and up there in the general list of fun things. A little over 1500 on each side I beleive was the final count. In our landing boat we had a bagpipe man, and that just got you all the more pumped up. The ramps dropped and there was no chance for the first wave. Got hit about 10 times then went back in for re-insertion. Nothing in paintball can compare to the intensity of this. 28 minutes later, we had pushed the germans back and took the beach. Record time, last year the beach was not taken, and the year before that it took 45 minutes.
Dozens of small battles took place. Couple larger ones.
Finally with about an hour left and the Allies far behind in points Extreme Measures goes off to acquire some barrels for more points. Problem is there is a german line. We fight for a bit then decide to take a longer route. Meet a little resistance there, easily taken care off. On the way there we meet up with more guys with barrels heading back. We take some of their squad and continue to the pentagon. When we get there low and behold there's no barrels. With about a half hour left, we decide to go back and help out with the assaulting germans on our HQ. We take a hike and manage to get behind the line, and storm the beach. Unfortuantly we didn't get as sneaky as a assault as we wished with someone firing early. But 30 of us Allies managed to take out over a hundred Germans and stop the assault on our HQ and prevented a second assassination of our General.
There's so much more I could say about this. It was a blast, I never had so much fun in paintball before.
A big thanks to the Extreme Measures guys for putting up with me for the weekend and lugging my carless *** around
And to Skirmish for putting the event on.
Only compaints were the 10 minute thunderstorms with no warning, 3000 people and only 9 portapotties, and all the damn walking!
