    Free CAD programs

    I want to try some cad.

    I wanna try to model my RTP rai, and then, make a model of how i want it milled.

    I think i'd use cad, right?

    Any tips?

    Most CAD programs, like AutoCad, Mechanical Desktop, and SolidWorks are extremely expensive in their full form. You might be able to get demos for them, but I'm not sure.

    /has all three
    //no you can't have them

      My mom's an architect and she uses AutoCAD 2002. Most CAD programs are expensive though, up past the $$ it would cost you to get photoshop or any comparable program. If you're planning on using it a lot, my mom swears by AutoCAD. If you're not, then sketch it by hand... it's good practice anyway.

        If he's doing rails and stuff like that, he'd be better off getting a demo of SolidWorks. It's much more intuitive than AutoCad.
