someone stoll almost a full tank out of my brothers subaru when i used it to take my date to the movies (my civic had a flat)..anyway, im pissed, and so is my bro!!!!

gas prices pushing 3 bucks here, and i cant afford to fill a whole tank

I think gas prices have a lot to do with this problem. The solution would be a new gas cap with a lock.

Wow, I cant believe people are getting that desperate. If so, I'd start buying stock in locking gas caps because they if not already equipped on your car are gonna start picking up in retail

If I was your brother, I'd start writing down the odo reading before you borrowed the car. Stolen gas indeed ...

I actually remember people stealing gas in the 70's. Locking gas caps are cheap, cheaper than a few gallons at least. The nice thing about stealing gas in the 70's though, was that leaded gas had a nice sweet taste to it

well, my civic got siphoned too...and this one has something my firend invented (and has a pantent for) which is this keyless lock thing, like we have for our regular car locks....

anyway, its only when i go two places though, the big mall up near me, and the movie theater, and thats the only places my friends have had the sme problem...

Oh yes, and the odo said i only went 40 miles (that was WITH picking up my girlfriend and going to dinner, and the movies (i had a full tank when i started)

Those old vented gas caps were no better than rags. I have a '70 Cutlass S and if you take a fast corner with a full tank of gas you'll find the licence plate soaked. Ocassionally if you're watching an old movie during a stunt you'll see that too.
