I am a hardware tech and came accross a slightly older laptop (one that we use as a floater) that the USB port (one single verticle port) that got messed up by one of our idiot lawyers.
well it has been in the retirment pool for a while now and i figured that the USB and a bad LCD where not reason enough to keep it down and out. Well i have some parts from other laptops that i can salvage a good LCD, but the other few parts comps all have something wrong with the mo-board. In fact the one with the bad USB is in the best shape.
I need to replace the 1.1 verticle USB port with a new one. They are easy enough to take off, but seem to get destroyed in the process. but putting a new one on should be easy enough.
well i have looked on the net and cant seem to find and stores that sell components like this. I keep getting mini hubs and so on. I just need the port that direct solders onto the board.
