summer inturnships

[frontrunner]

Ok so my summer internship ended last week and i was thinking since i know alot of fellow Aoers are in school that some of you also had internships this summer so lets post them. show us what you did with your summer.

as for mine, I watched whales at Seaworld, I'm a psychology major and while animal behavior isn't something i'm thinking strongly about i couldn't pass this one up. it ws credited and unpaid.

Im working for a city (mckinney if anyone is from texas) engineering intern working with traffic sytems and such. not really looking to do it for a career (im more into IT) but it pays well and i get to see how a city works.

i had an internship working in desktop support at a major insurance company. they got outsourced though. so this year i'm working retail in a victoria's secret store. who knows. maybe after i graduate i can move to a job in one of their offices or working on their website.

i didnt have an internship or anything, but i ended up taking a 2 week mechanical engineering course at WPI.

I did web design and server side scripting. It's not the funnest thing to do, but at least its computer related (going to school for computer engineering)

Helped in IT at the Pittsburgh Zoo.

Not an internship, but I am working at Washington University in St. Louis Medical Center. Built for them a beowolfe cluster (256 nodes) and helped with a few experiment designs.

I've been working at Modern Trade Communications this summer. It's a small magazine publishing company; the magazines they publish are Metal Architecture, Metal Home Digest, and Metal Construction News. I'm not interested in the business at all, but they have paid me well. I pretty much just put address labels on evelopes for junk mail they send out to people.
