    Motorcycles Rule

Just got back from my first day of Motorcylce Rider Training (they supply the bike)to get my M2, i have had m1 (restricted lisence) since last month.

I did a little rideing befor the course around town and it was GREAT and ALOT of FUN. BUT after just the first day of the course im HOOKED. Im simply amazed what these bikes can be pushed to do (and their only 125cc Kawasaki Eliminators). All i have to say High speed slalom is a BLAST!!!!!. was told i was doing great as i was scraping the pegs each time (apperantly a good thing means im pushing it ).

Man words cant describe this auxileration and idrenilin rush.

I have driven pretty much EVERYTHING from sports cars to heavy equipment (loaders, backhoes, skid steers, excavators), Transport trucks, Buses (transit, Higway and school) and even a few boats (sea doos as well, and flew a plane on an intro flight.

Other than the air planes NOTHING compares to riding a bike. Hell i drove home in my truck and felt as if i was stuck in slow motion.

Now i cant wait till tommorow but i must admit after spending 8hr on the things its nice t be relaxing now (my REAR HURTS BIG TIME ).

The bikes they had there to choose from:

    Suzuki 125cc OLD SCHOOL bikes
    Yamaha 100CC Dirt Bikes
    Yamaha 125cc Dirt Bikes
    Honda 100cc Dirt Bikes
    Honda 200cc Dirt Bikes
Kawasaki Eliminator 125cc Cruiser (what i chose closest style to the bike i want only ALOT SMALLER)

Of course i also tried the bigger 200cc Dirt bike witch has a TON more power but i did not like it as mutch.

Congrats on doing the course man. I completed my course at the end of june. The class is really fun and very informative. I am really glad I took the class. I loved the class so much I bought a brand new Harley Sportster and riding just gets better and better. If you think riding those little bikes are fun, just wait till you get to ride a bigger bike. Have fun and ride safe.

Yep there's nothing like ripping though corners with asphalt just inches away from tender flesh.

If you get a chance, attend a track day or performance riding school. Then you'll see that there's nothing like ripping through corners with asphalt just inches away from tender flesh while maintaining a foot of two of clearance from other riders.

I've been riding a CBR900rr since about 1999 and it's quite a bit a different animal than even a 600 sport bike. Emphasis on "different" not, "better," as 600s can be freakisly fast.
      God gave you a soul.
      Your parents, a body.
      Your country, a rifle.

      Keep all of them clean.

I can only imaging what that be like but it not my style. Although im shure it be a rush i do ALOT of long huals in my truckmand want a bike ALOT more comfy than a sport bike to continue some of these trips on th bike. Im looking to get a nice cruiser some time in the comeing winter Mybe a Kawasaki Vulcan 500. For now i just gona ride my moms Suzuki Savage 650.

I need to keep the cc down thoug for inshurance reasons (im 22 and a new rider) I figue if i get the Kawasaki i can ride that for 3 years then trade up to a 1600 or so curiser/turing bike when im 25.

I like that litle vulcan its got alonger low tance than my mothers savage. Also its a inline win (my moms is a 650 SINGLE). The engien is te same as the one in the 500 ninja an its hooked up to a six speed transmishion. The controles are set nicely and seems comfy for even a bigger guy like myself. Deffinatly considering it as a first bike.

I also must say im impressed with that TINY 125cc as i was SURPRIZED at what it could be put through. Although a tad on the gutless side (still quicker tan most non sport cars) it was still a BLAST. Also even as small as this bike is its surprizingly comfy and well spaced out. im 6ft 260lbs and feel comforable wit all the crontroles and dont feel like drawf the bike.

Heres the bike im training on. Kawasaki Eliminator 125 cc

HERE is the 500 Vulcan i want t buy this winter

I got a few quotes to see if the CC of a bike made a differance. The price for a CBR1000 RR and a 250cc ninja were withing $100. I don't think you have to worry about insurance to much.

Ah yes BUT im Canadian AND im under 25.

Take a Suzuki 800 Intruder Or even a Kawasaki Vulcan 800 and inshurace for ME is $2876/Year.

Now even my mothers 650 Suzuki Savage will run me $2278

But that 500 Vulcan only hits me for $2086/year.

These qutes were taken from www.kanetix.ca Now granted the 650 aint far TOO far off but its still an extra $20 every month and thats twenty that id rather use in fuel even if i gotta look a little funny riding my puny bike at least i will afford to RIDE

Oh and by the way did my test today and i PASSED ONLY lost points for going TOO FAST (projected speed for exercise 30km/hr My speed 45km/hr in a TIGHT right had turn ). Hehehehehehe I ended up doing some off the turns than the instructor .

How is it so high? They want about $600 to put a new rider on a 1000 which is pretty much a guaranteed wreck. It only starts getting expensive when you want full coverage or extra insurance for your own injuries. I guess they figure on a bike you're only going to hurt yourself, not other people.

I'll get a beating for this I know...

                      I run a 98 honda Shadow 1100, FULL COVERAGE $200/year
                      got a quote for a 2002 Buell X1 Lightning FULL COVERGE $350/year

And I'm 25 and only had my MC licence for a year so I really can't see the big deal on insurance.

Here is a tip, stay clear of Progressive and/ or Gieco if you can they are by FAR the most expensive ones out there.
