Blizzard Entertainment and aol users read plz.

For your benefit if you play a blizzard entertainment game and use aol do not register your blizz account to an aol email adress.Reason for this is you will never get the email..ive been on and off the phone with aol and blizz for almost 2.5 months now..aol will not permit blizz's automatied mailing system to email aol users..so heed my advice and dont use an aol email adress to registrr password recovery.

I assume blizz uses the same password recovery system for all games.

If anyone here has had the problem and somehow managed to get thier password plz let me know how you did so.

Just some advice..or dont change your pass at 4 in the morning and forget .

No its not..ive turned all spam filters off so nothing is being sent to the spam folder..they just cant send to aol users..its messed up aol is telling me to have blizz call them and blizz is telling me to have aol call them and niether of them will call...so yea its bs im pretty mad i put alot of time into my account and now its pretty much gone...if i do get a new password for it the account or all the characters prolly will be expired..with my luck..im still calling them and i sent an email to the post master..well one of em..which ive already talked to.. i taked to more then 5 people from aol today and still got no where...so i dont know..ill prolly just say F it and give up..i know there where spose to be a few programs out there that can hack accounts..but with the new patch i doubt there is any available now...unless someone on AO can crack passwords..i know some poeople do it for fun..so if anyoen does lemme know..ill try anything right now i just want the account back...but thanks for the advice.

AOL has a quite advanced anti-abuse system for their email. It sounds like Blizzard is violating one of the standards/best practices AOL requires. As far as I know all of AOL's expectations are fully reasonable. They are simple things for folks that can read and follow the RFCs. Many companies just plain ignore the standards. You may want to point Blizzard to: http://postmaster.aol.com/ and see if they can fix their server.

From what the blizz guys tell me they have tried but aol wont change anything or soemthing..i dont know aol told me that the email it was suppose to coem form wasnt blokced so i dont know..and they shouldnt have broken any spam rules..casue in order to get this or any blizz email you have to request it..unless some moron reported them for spam. But either way im pretty sure i lost my account.

CKY_Alliance suggest to blizzard that they setup a FBL with AOL. It's a feedback loop so Blizzaed can see if their messages are being reported as spam. They problably have a problem on their server sending out the mail and AOL won't (and frankly shoudn't) modify their security software to allow it in. My money would be on an invalid HELO. If I had a sample message I could tell you a lot more.

SCpoloRicker how about you abstain from posting till you grow a clue. AOL's handeling of SMTP mail is about the best in the quite small collection of huge ISPs. They have done more for not only their users, but all folks who maintain a SMTP server than any other large ISP in the last 3 or more years. You can dislike them all you want. No need to whine on a forum about other people's ISP.

Thanks hexis...but also SC they do suck but i dont pay for service so its not my choice...and even if i didnt use aol anymore the account would still have to be registered to the aol email.

Hexis you said a sample email, as in the email blizz sends? if so whats your email address and i can have one sent..all i have to do is make a new account and register it under the email you give me and itll send it to you when i request it..

I have a better idea. Get yerslef a gmail account. Send a message to that, then post the headers. If you need a gmail invite let me know.
