    Why oh why won't my AIM work!!!

    Everytime I get on AIM it will boot up fine and I can log in and everything but if I try to send a message to anyone or anyone sends a message to me then it just locks up and says, "AOL Instant Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

    Then there's a little button that says for more info on this error click here and when I click that it says, "Error signature - AppName: aim.exe AppVer: 5.9.3702.0 ModName: kernel32.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.0 Offset: 00014a5a"

    WTF!!!!

    I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but that doesn't work. Anyone else have any ideas?

          I second Trillian ... or an older version of AIM with Dead AIM installed at least.

                          my friend has that problem and what she does is that she just takes whoever she talks to into a private chat room and then there is no problem. The chat room is basically the same thing, just a bigger window.
