So it seems there is a large portion of moped owners on this forum. So its time to ask some questions. Are mopeds specifically defined as being under 50cc? Is that what makes a moped a moped? Mainly right now I am thinking on ways to save on gas, and a moped has come to mind. They get great gas mileage, and since I mainly stay within a 25 mile area(without highway driving), can get me there relatively quick regardless. So now a few stupid questions
a) do all mopeds have that goofy look where you have to sit like you are sitting in a chair? or can you get a more "motorcycle looking moped".
b) max speed on a moped?
c) what kind of gas efficiency can I expect?
d) what size gas tank?
e) what type of gas/oil do they take?
f) how hard is maintenance on them? It seems like most moped maintenance is DIY.
g) Any suggestions for which moped to get under 500 dollars?
