    Machine Gun vs. Katana

Awesome video of a .50 cal easily shredding a katana...or was it so easy?
    Watch the slow-mo carefully--especially bullet #3.
This video is an awesome testament to quality of the Japanese blade.

WOW That was pretty amazing. I wonder what possessed them to do something like that? Not only a testament to the quality of the blade, but its pretty awesome how a .50 (I think, or .30) cal machine gun was able to hit the blade 6 or 7 times in a row.

      Where's QUIK?

      Translate!!

That's pretty impressive, especially the fact that it pretty much split 4-5 of those bullets in HALF.

there was a similar video on AO a while ago of someone shooting a pistol directly at a katana, and the katana split all the bullets, without getting damaged itself. or at least without snapping.

Yeah, I couldn't get that vid to work, but it's on the same site as this video.

This is a good site. It has a lot of the better videos. A good selection of Family Guy and SNL clips, too.

Due to the lack of recoil, and that the bullets looked suspiciously like cast lead, rather than standard ball....I'm still impressed that the blade held up as long as it did.

Why so surprised that some rounds hit in succession? The "Ma Deuce" is not a spray and pray weapon! There is a semi-auto fire mode for a reason! These were once used as sniper weapons before the days of the Barretts. With a .50 cal, if you can see it, you can hit it

I missed it though, what was the point of the video?
