I know in Maine you can pass on the right as long as the person in front of you is turing left and at a complete stop, was the guy you passed stopped or were you barreling past him because you couldn't get around on the left? It is illegal to pass on the right on the turnpike even if it is a double lane.
Think defensive driving on 4 wheels is fun, try doing it on two sometime against an out-of-state soccer mom in an suv who's talking on a cell phone
but in Cameo's defense when I was 16 I rolled a subaru on a dirt road, did I learn anything from it? Yes, Did it make me a better driver? doubt it, but I can say I haven't had an accident since then and have yet to get a speeding ticket.[email protected]

cameo - okay you just confused me. to clarify, by "youre talking about passing a moving car on the left. im talking about passing a stopped car (waiting to make a left turn) on the right side." i meant "youre talking about passing a moving car with you on the left, and said car on the right. im talking about passing a stopped car (waiting to make a left turn) while theyre on the left side of the road, and you are passing on the right side. but... ehh i dont feel like keeping up an argument here, im tired. i just think that in plenty of situations passing on the right can be perfectly safe, although in some it may be dangerous.

Then, in many jurisdictions the cop doesn't have to show up in court. Their notes are good enough for testimony unless you can prove a valid and relevant question that can't be answered.
And the worst thing isn't having to pay the ticket. You may have to pay the ticket and court costs.
Everyone should look up their jurisdiction's Highway code and read it. Lot's of stuff you get away with everyday. If it was just about giving tickets to raise cash, they'd post lots of cops and enforce the letter of the law.Comment
