Abuse of power.. When the govt slid part of the "RAVE" act into the Amber Alert law, it gave them the power to treat any event (wether its a concert, afterhouse, etc) as a crackhouse. I've been watching this closely, as I used to go to raves ALOT.. I am still active in DJing within the scene and this is just pure amazement to me.

wow is right. That is just down right terrible. I can't believe something like that could happen, I really hope those videos surface and something changes. Thats just not right, espically the part about kicking that girl in the stomach, and sicking dogs on her.

Having lived in Utah in a certain area (just under an hour away form Salt Lake City...this is my point of view..

There are certain area's in utah that the military has a tight control over, you are limited to how many people you can have on your propery at one time and you are limited to what you are permitted to build on our property due to the flight path of the aircraft. We encountered this when we were trying to make an additon to our house and also when the church I was attending was looking to epand. It even came into play when the church camp I attended wanted to expand (these are all in very differnt area's).. I also remember some issues coming up when SLC put in the bid for the Olympics with some of the venues being in that general area... It is something that has been going on for a very long time. Sadley enough my father had a big part in it because the sqaud he was a member of had to set the lines and do all of the surveying for this "law".
If I am not mistaken there are the same type of areas near the base that is a short drive from Vegas (nelson??).

I never quite understood it all, just accepted it.

Nellis AFB in Nevada (Vegas)--yes, there are parts that are very off-limits--same as in in Utah--who cares? It's the government's land.
I'm sure it's more for Nat'l security than just telling people "No Trespassing".

thanks, my mind is going... getting old.

Part of the issue was the flight path of the airplanes... where they take off and land ect there was stricter rules on development then in other area's where they reagualrly trained. I met my father for breakfast (his dinner) an hour or so ago and asked him about it.. He said that being in utah and it being a pretty dry year there could possibly be limits because of the risk of fire.... makes sence to me...

Not only that, but he was able to legally obtain a permit for this event in the first place. How would that be possible if this interfered with the military?

I don't know who to believe, but after reading the sherriff's department statement, I question exactly what permits were obtained and what were actually required.

Read the artical written by the police, it wasn't the military those are police SWAT teams. Both articals are definatly one sided but from the video I'm leaning more to the polices side of the story.

Yea pyro, I'd have to agree with you on that one. The video of them kciking attacking and beating the people they arrested is still wrong though.
