    Ethanol-Gasoline Car Converter!

    First, the website:

Now, the details. A company based out of England, Abcesso Ltd., has developed a easy-to-install, easy-to-use, and most of all affordable, ethanol convertor for gasoline engines called Flextek. I'm not going to explain it too much because the website has pretty much all the information you need. Here are some pros and cons:

    +Pros+

    -Affordable ($210 for 4 cylinder model, $269 for 5-6 cylinder, $330 for 8)
-Works with a LOT of vehicles with digital multipoint electronic injection (ALL Fords, almost ALL GM's)
-Easy to install (I think )
-You can use ethanol, gasoline, or a mixture of the two
-For its installation, connectors are used with no wire cutting, nor any other mechanical changes. (Keeps vehicle original)

    -Cons-

-Engine might have trouble starting in cold weather
-Using alcohol increases fuel consumption (around 20-30%)

I'm sure I'm missing some obvious Pros and Cons, so tell me and I'll add them to the lists.

It won't save you a lot of money, but it does support America and it is a lot cleaner.

I know on the webiste it said it would eventually start to erode the carburetor, so it must be able to work for at least a while...

Most current Fords are already Flex-fuel vehicles - and if I am not mistaken the VAST majority of gasoline engines will run off pretty Ethanol heavy mixtures...

Yes, that is true, but this makes it a lot easier for the engine to handle it. It also gives people some reassurance, since most people still believe the myth that it's unsafe to use ethanol even in newer vehicles.

Interesting Fact: A recent study by the USDA found that ethanol yields 67% more energy than what it takes to produce it, while gasoline is significantly less efficient.
